§ 46.17.135. Vehicle identification number reassignment fee.

Before accepting an application for a certificate of title, the department, county auditor or other agent, or subagent appointed by the director shall require an applicant to pay a five dollar vehicle identification number reassignment fee if the Washington state patrol has reassigned an identification number as authorized under RCW 46.12.560. The reassignment fee must be deposited in the motor vehicle fund created in RCW 46.68.070.
