§ 6642. Summoning witnesses in this State to testify in another state If a judge of a court of record in any state which by its laws has made provision for commanding persons within that state to attend and testify in an action in this

  • State, certifies under the seal of such court that there is an action pending in that
    court, that a person being within this State is a material witness in the action,
    and that his or her presence will be required for a specified number of days, upon
    presentation of the certificate to any Superior judge in the unit in which the person
    is, the judge shall fix a time and place for a hearing in the unit and shall notify
    the witness by an order stating the purpose of the hearing and directing him or her
