§ 632. Compensation to dependents; burial and funeral expenses
- (a)(1) If death results from the injury, the employer shall pay to the persons entitled to
compensation or, if there are none, then to the personal representative of the deceased
employee, the actual burial and funeral expenses not to exceed $10,000.00 and the
actual expenses for out-of-state transportation of the decedent to the place of burial
not to exceed $5,000.00. (2) Every two years, the Commissioner of Labor shall evaluate the average burial and funeral
expenses in the State and make a recommendation to the House Committee on Commerce
and Economic Development as to whether an adjustment in compensation is warranted.
