§ 3312a. Operation of personal watercraft

  • (a) An individual less than 16 years of age shall not operate a personal watercraft. (b) All individuals operating or riding on a personal watercraft shall wear a properly
    secured wearable U.S. Coast Guard-approved personal flotation device as intended by
    the manufacturer. (c) Personal watercraft shall not be operated at any time between sunset and sunrise. (d) Every individual operating a personal watercraft equipped by the manufacturer with
    a lanyard type engine cut-off switch shall attach the lanyard to his or her wrist,
    clothing, or personal flotation device as appropriate for the specific craft. (Added 1989, No. 65, § 9; amended 2009, No. 30, § 1; 2021, No. 76, § 19.)
