§ WA.16.352. ENFORCEMENT OF RULES

ENFORCEMENT OF RULES. A person who violates a rule adopted by a municipality or county under this subchapter or under Subchapter B or C, Chapter 232 , Local Government Code, is liable to the municipality or county for a civil penalty of not less than $500 and not more than $1,000 for each violation and for each day of a violation. The maximum civil penalty that may accrue each day is $5,000. The appropriate attorney representing the municipality or county may sue to collect the penalty. The recovered penalty shall be deposited in the general fund of the municipality or county. Added by Acts 1999, 76th Leg., ch. 404, Sec. 36, eff. Sept. 1, 1999.
