§ SD.5004.059. OFFICERS
OFFICERS. (a) At the first board meeting in January of each odd-numbered year, the board shall appoint by board majority: (1) from the directors, a presiding officer, an assistant presiding officer, and a secretary-treasurer; and (2) if considered proper, an assistant secretary and an assistant treasurer. (b) The assistant secretary and assistant treasurer: (1) are not required to be directors; and (2) may be granted limited powers by the bylaws. (c) Officers serve two-year terms, except that the assistant secretary and assistant treasurer, if appointed, hold office at the pleasure of the board.
