§ OC.1701.309. AGE REQUIREMENT
AGE REQUIREMENT. The commission by rule shall set 21 years of age as the minimum age for obtaining a license as an officer. The rules must provide that a person at least 18 years of age may be issued a license as an officer if the person has: (1) completed and received credit for at least 60 hours of study at an accredited college or university or received an associate degree from an accredited college or university; or (2) received an honorable discharge from the United States armed forces after at least two years of service. Acts 1999, 76th Leg., ch. 388, Sec. 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1999.
