§ HS.775.114. INSURANCE
INSURANCE. (a) An action taken by the fire marshal in the investigation of a fire does not affect the rights of a policyholder or of an insurer regarding a loss caused by the fire. (b) The records of an investigation by the fire marshal relating to the detection, investigation, or prosecution of a crime may be admitted in evidence in the trial of a civil action unless those records are subject to an exception under Sections 552.108 (a)(1) and (b)(1), Government Code. Added by Acts 2001, 77th Leg., ch. 272, Sec. 5, eff. Sept. 1, 2001.
