§ HS.772.220. DISSOLUTION PROCEDURES
DISSOLUTION PROCEDURES. (a) If a district is dissolved, 9-1-1 service must be discontinued on the date of the dissolution. The commissioners court of the county in which the district was located shall assume the assets of the district and pay the district's debts. If the district's assets are insufficient to retire the outstanding bonded indebtedness of the district, the commissioners court shall continue to impose the 9-1-1 service fee, and each service supplier shall continue to collect the fee for the commissioners court. Proceeds from the imposition of the fee after dissolution of the district may be used only to retire the outstanding bonded indebtedness of the district. (b) The commissioners court shall retire the district's indebtedness to the extent practicable according to the terms of the bonds and the terms of the orders and resolutions authorizing issuance of the bonds. (c) The commissioners court by order may adopt the rules necessary to administer this section. Acts 1989, 71st Leg., ch. 678, Sec. 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1989.
