§ EL.232.044. WITHDRAWAL IN NEW ELECTION
WITHDRAWAL IN NEW ELECTION. The provisions of this code governing withdrawal of candidates in the contested election apply to the new election ordered by a court in an election contest, except that: (1) the district court shall set the deadline for withdrawal from the new election; and (2) a political party's executive committee may not make a replacement nomination if the party's nominee withdraws from the new election. Acts 1985, 69th Leg., ch. 211, Sec. 1, eff. Jan. 1, 1986.
