§ GV.4007.053. INVESTIGATIVE AUTHORITY
INVESTIGATIVE AUTHORITY. (a) The commissioner shall conduct investigations as the commissioner considers necessary to prevent or detect a violation of this title or a board rule or order. (b) For the purpose of conducting an investigation under this section, the commissioner may: (1) administer oaths; (2) sign subpoenas; (3) issue subpoenas or summons to compel the attendance and testimony of witnesses and the production of all records, electronic or otherwise, relating to any matter that the commissioner has the authority under this title to consider or investigate; (4) examine witnesses; and (5) receive evidence. (c) During an investigation, the commissioner may cause the deposition of witnesses residing inside or outside this state to be taken in the manner prescribed by the laws of this state for taking a deposition in a civil action.
