§ HS.263.082. PAYMENT BY PATIENT

PAYMENT BY PATIENT. (a) A patient may not be permitted to pay an amount for the patient's maintenance in the hospital greater than the average per capita cost of maintenance in the hospital, including a reasonable allowance for the interest on the cost of the hospital. (b) An officer or employee of a county hospital may not accept from a patient a fee, payment, or gratuity for any service. Acts 1989, 71st Leg., ch. 678, Sec. 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1989.
