§ GV.2054.008. CONTRACT NOTIFICATION

CONTRACT NOTIFICATION. (a) In this section "major information system" includes: (1) one or more computers that in the aggregate cost more than $100,000; (2) a service related to computers, including computer software, that costs more than $100,000; and (3) a telecommunications apparatus or device that serves as a voice, data, or video communications network for transmitting, switching, routing, multiplexing, modulating, amplifying, or receiving signals on the network and costs more than $100,000. (b) A state agency shall provide written notice to the Legislative Budget Board of a contract for a major information system. The notice must be on a form prescribed by the Legislative Budget Board and filed not later than the 30th day after the date the agency enters into the contract. (c) A university system or institution of higher education must provide written notice to the Legislative Budget Board under Subsection (b) only if the cost of the major information system exceeds $1 million. In this subsection, "university system" has the meaning assigned by Section 61.003 , Education Code. Added by Acts 1999, 76th Leg., ch. 281, Sec. 5, eff. Sept. 1, 1999.
