§ 7-56-202. Nature of powers.
The acquisition, construction, operation and maintenance of such properties and facilities are hereby declared to be public and governmental functions with the authorities acting as agencies and instrumentalities of the creating and participating counties and municipalities. The powers granted in this part, in connection with this part, are declared to be public and corporate purposes and matters of public necessity. Acts 1983, ch. 221, § 2; 1996, ch. 599, § 1.
