§ 69-6-117. Alternative method for establishment of district — Procedure.

As an alternative method for the establishment of a watershed district, any such district may be organized and established in the same manner as a levee and drainage district by the procedure set forth in chapter 5 of this title. In event this alternative procedure is followed, it will not be necessary to file a petition with the state soil conservation committee, and chapter 5 of this title shall apply to the organization of the district. Any watershed district that is organized by following the procedure prescribed by chapter 5 of this title has the same objectives and purposes and possesses the same powers as provided for in this chapter.
