§ 49-4-912. HOPE scholarship — Contingencies.

The receipt of a Tennessee HOPE scholarship is contingent upon admission to an eligible postsecondary institution. Academically qualifying for a Tennessee HOPE scholarship does not guarantee admission to an eligible postsecondary institution. Tennessee HOPE scholarship students may enroll as full-time students or part-time students at an eligible postsecondary institution. A student who enrolls as a full-time student at the beginning of a semester may not drop to part-time status in that semester, unless the student requests and the institution approves part-time status based on documented medical or personal grounds. TSAC shall promulgate rules and regulations for attendance as a part-time student, payment of awards to part-time students, change from full-time to part-time status based on documented medical or personal grounds, and the grounds for which such change from full-time to part-time status may be granted. The rules and regulations shall be promulgated in accordance with the Uniform Administrative Procedures Act, compiled in title 4, chapter 5. Acts 2003, ch. 298, § 1.
