§ 49-10-106. Adoption of standards or qualifications for teachers and other personnel — Adoption of evaluation procedures and eligibility criteria for children with disabilities — Cooperation.
The state board of education, in consultation with the department of education, is authorized to take necessary action in the area of special education to: Adopt standards or qualifications for teachers and other personnel providing instruction or other educational services to children with disabilities; Adopt the evaluation procedures and eligibility criteria for children with disabilities; and Cooperate with other state agencies, organizations, and institutions that are concerned with the health, education, and welfare of children with disabilities.
