§ 47-18-1806. Civil penalties.

The attorney general may seek and the court may impose a maximum civil penalty for a violation of this part of not more than ten thousand dollars ($10,000). For purposes of this section, each unmarked or improperly marked article constitutes a separate violation of this part. Acts 1997, ch. 244, § 6; 2019, ch. 459, § 35. Compiler's Notes. Acts 2019, ch. 459, § 55 provided that the division of consumer affairs in the department of commerce and insurance shall coordinate with the attorney general and reporter to transfer all documents, information, systems, and other material deemed relevant to the operation of the division of consumer affairs of the office of the attorney general and reporter. Amendments. The 2019 amendment substituted “The attorney general” for “The director” at the beginning of the section. Effective Dates. Acts 2019, ch. 459, § 56. September 30, 2019.
