§ 47-18-1706. Investigators.

Whenever the attorney general has reason to believe that a person is engaging in, has engaged in, or may be about to engage in a violation of this part or has reason to believe it to be in the public interest to conduct an investigation to ascertain whether any person is engaging in, or has engaged in, or is about to engage in such act or practice, the attorney general may conduct an investigation in accordance with § 47-18-106 . Acts 1996, ch. 731, § 7; 2019, ch. 459, § 30. Compiler's Notes. Acts 2019, ch. 459, § 55 provided that the division of consumer affairs in the department of commerce and insurance shall coordinate with the attorney general and reporter to transfer all documents, information, systems, and other material deemed relevant to the operation of the division of consumer affairs of the office of the attorney general and reporter. Amendments. The 2019 amendment substituted “attorney general” for “division” twice. Effective Dates. Acts 2019, ch. 459, § 56. September 30, 2019.
