§ 45-2-1708. Unlawful use of term “safe deposit.”

It is unlawful for any person to use the terms “safe deposit,” “safety deposit,” or other words deceptively similar, in connection with the rental of storage space, or in the title or name under that business is done, except: A person subject to the jurisdiction of the department; A manufacturer or dealer in safe deposit facilities or equipment; or An association, the membership of which is composed of officers or institutions subject to regulation under this chapter and chapter 1 of this title, or the laws of the United States or any state.
