§ 37-1-181. Judges to conduct proceedings.

Proceedings under §§ 37-1-175 — 37-1-181 may be held only by judges who are lawyers or by magistrates. Acts 2000, ch. 947, § 7; 2009, ch. 235, § 1. Compiler's Notes. Acts 2009, ch. 235, § 1 directed the code commission to revise appropriate references from “child support referees” and “juvenile referees” to “child support magistrates” and “juvenile magistrates” in the code as supplements are published and volumes are replaced.
