§ 36-5-403. Powers of magistrate.

The magistrate shall have the same authority and power as a circuit court judge to issue any and all process and in conducting hearings and other proceedings in accordance with this part; provided, that all final orders of a magistrate must be reviewed by a judge as provided in § 36-5-405 . Acts 2009, ch. 235, § 1 directed the code commission to revise appropriate references from “child support referees” and “juvenile referees” to “child support magistrates” and “juvenile magistrates” in the code as supplements are published and volumes are replaced.
