§ 29-13-301. Part definitions.

As used in this part, unless the context otherwise requires: “Commission” means the Tennessee claims commission created pursuant to § 9-8-301; “Criminal injuries compensation award” means the compensation awarded pursuant to part 1 of this chapter; “Division” means the division of claims and risk management created pursuant to § 9-8-401; “Guardian ad litem” means a responsible adult appointed by the juvenile court to protect the rights and interests of the minor; “Juvenile court” means the court having juvenile court jurisdiction in the county where the minor resides; and “Minor” means any person who has not attained eighteen (18) years of age and who has not been otherwise emancipated. Acts 1993, ch. 494, § 1; 1994, ch. 808, § 1; 2017, ch. 271, § 1. Amendments. The 2017 amendment substituted “division of claims and risk management” for “division of claims administration” in the definition of “division”. Effective Dates. Acts 2017, ch. 271, § 3.
