§ 2-4-101. Officials conducting elections.
All elections shall be held by election officials appointed under this title. Acts 1972, ch. 740, § 1; T.C.A., § 2-401. Attorney General Opinions. A city is solely responsible for the costs of the special election to fill the vacancy in a council seat and cannot seek to recover those costs from the resigning member, OAG 07-169 (12/21/07).
