§ 16-15-701. Electronic filing.

Any court governed by this chapter may, by local rule, allow papers to be filed, signed, or verified by electronic means that comply with technological standards promulgated by the supreme court. Pleadings and other papers filed electronically under such local rules shall be considered the same as written papers. Acts 2018, ch. 809, § 1. Compiler's Notes. Former § 16-15-701 (Acts 1959, ch. 109, § 6; T.C.A., § 16-1118; Acts 1983, ch. 176, § 1), concerning pleading and practice and examination of witnesses in the general sessions courts, was repealed by Acts 1993, ch. 241, § 18. Effective Dates. Acts 2018, ch. 809, § 2. July 1, 2018.
