§ 3-17-101. Short title.

This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the “Tennessee Nonprofit Gaming Law.” Acts 2004, ch. 476, § 1; 2015, ch. 134, § 1. Compiler's Notes. Acts 2004, ch. 476, § 13 provided that the provisions of the act shall not be construed to be an appropriation of funds and no funds shall be obligated or expended pursuant to the act unless such funds are specifically appropriated by the general appropriations act. Amendments. The 2015 amendment substituted “Tennessee Nonprofit Gaming Law” for “Tennessee Charitable Gaming Implementation Law” at the end of the section. Effective Dates. Acts 2015, ch. 134, § 28. The provisions of T.C.A. §§ 3-17-102(a)(2) , 3-17-103(a)(6) and former 3-17-104(a)(3) (see now 3-17-104(e)(1) ) do not conflict with the definition of “§ 501(c)(3) organization” as set forth in T.C.A. § 3-17-101 ; the definition applies throughout the statute, OAG 04-072 (4/21/04).
