§ 2-2-203. Prohibited acts by registering agencies — Penalty.

A person who provides service described in § 2-2-202 shall not: Seek to influence an applicant's political preference or party registration; Display any such political preference or party allegiance; or Make any statement to an applicant or take any action, the purpose or effect of which is to discourage the applicant from registering to vote. A violation of this section is a Class C misdemeanor. Acts 1994, ch. 947, § 4. Compiler's Notes. References to the county “registrar-at-large” and “deputy registrar” have been changed to “administrator of elections” and “deputy”, respectively, pursuant to Acts 1997, ch. 558, §§ 21 and 22.
