§ 90-171. 40. Ongoing approval.
The Board shall review all nursing programs in the State at least every 10 years or more often as considered necessary. If the Board determines that any approved nursing program does not meet or maintain the standards required by the Board, the Board shall give written notice specifying the deficiencies to the institution responsible for the program. The Board shall evaluate and take appropriate action, including withdrawing approval, for a program that fails to correct deficiencies within a reasonable time. The Board shall publish a list of nursing programs in this State showing their approval status. History (1981, c. 360, s. 1; 2003-146, s. 5; 2019-180, s. 11.) Editor's Note. - Session Laws 2019-180, s. 16, made the amendment of this section by Session Laws 2019-180, s. 11, effective October 1, 2019, and applicable to licenses granted or renewed on or after that date and actions taken by the Board of Nursing on or after that date. Effect of Amendments. - Session Laws 2019-180, s. 11, substituted "10" for "eight" in the first sentence; substituted "evaluate and take appropriate action, including withdrawing approval, for" for "withdraw approval from" in the third sentence; and deleted "annually" following "shall publish" in the last sentence.
