§ 143B-1020. Improper release of information; penalty.
Any person working under the supervision of the Director of Victims and Justice Services who knowingly and willfully releases, or authorizes the release of, any data, information, or records maintained or possessed by the Center to any agency, entity, or person other than as specifically permitted by Subpart B or in violation of any rule adopted by the Secretary is guilty of a Class 2 misdemeanor. History (1985 (Reg. Sess., 1986), c. 1000, s. 1; 1993, c. 539, s. 1050; 1994, Ex. Sess., c. 24, s. 14(c); 2011-145, s. 19.1(w).) Editor's Note. - Session Law 2011-145, s. 19.1(w) recodified former Part 5A (G.S. 143B-495 et seq.) of Article 11 of Chapter 143B as Subpart B (G.S. 143B-272.60 et seq.) of Part 5 of Article 5A of Chapter 143B . Article 5A was renumbered as Article 13 at the direction of the Revisor of Statutes. G.S. 143B-499.6 was recodified as G.S. 143B-272.70 by Session Laws 2011-145, s. 19.1(w), effective January 1, 2012. It was subsequently renumbered as this section at the direction of the Revisor of Statutes. Session Laws 2011-145, s. 1.1, provides: "This act shall be known as the 'Current Operations and Capital Improvements Appropriations Act of 2011.'" Session Laws 2011-145, s. 32.5, is a severability clause.
