§ 130A-131. 31. Definitions.

The following definitions shall apply in this Part: Department. - The Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health. HEPA Standards. - The National Institute on Out-of-School Time Healthy Eating and Physical Activity Standards. Out-of-school time program. - Any nonlicensed program provided to children and youth ages 17 and under that is currently exempt from G.S. 110-91 or any other qualified out-of-school time programs that serve school-age children outside of regular school hours, including before school and on weekends. Program attendee. - A person enrolled in an exempt out-of-school time program. Screen time. - Time spent viewing or working on television, videos, computers, or handheld devices, with or without Internet access. History (2016-94, s. 12E.2(b).) Editor's Note. - Session Laws 2016-94, s. 1.2, provides: "This act shall be known as the 'Current Operations and Capital Improvements Appropriations Act of 2016.'" Session Laws 2016-94, s. 39.4, provides: "Except for statutory changes or other provisions that clearly indicate an intention to have effects beyond the 2016-2017 fiscal year, the textual provisions of this act apply only to funds appropriated for, and activities occurring during, the 2016-2017 fiscal year." Session Laws 2016-94, s. 39.7, is a severability clause.
