History (2007-323, s. 9.7(a); 2008-107, s. 9.2(a), (b).) Editor's Note. - Session Laws 2009-451, s. 9.2(d), provides: "Notwithstanding G.S. 116-209.26(d) , the maximum grant for which a student is eligible for an EARN Scholarship shall be two thousand dollars ($2,000) for the 2009-2010 academic year. The State Education Assistance Authority shall pay the full amount of the grants awarded pursuant to this section in the 2009-2010 fall academic semester." Session Laws 2009-451, s. 9.2(f), provides: "The campus financial aid offices at each eligible postsecondary institution as defined in G.S. 116-209.26 are encouraged to work with EARN recipients to secure replacement financial aid for the 2010-2011 academic year and appropriate subsequent academic years." Session Laws 2009-451, s. 1.2, provides: "This act shall be known as the 'Current Operations and Capital Improvements Appropriations Act of 2009'." Session Laws 2009-451, s. 28.3, provides: "Except for statutory changes or other provisions that clearly indicate an intention to have effects beyond the 2009-2011 fiscal biennium, the textual provisions of this act apply only to funds appropriated for, and activities occurring during, the 2009-2011 fiscal biennium." Session Laws 2009-451, s. 28.5, is a severability clause. Effect of Amendments. - Session Laws 2008-107, ss. 9.2(a) and (b), effective July 1, 2008, and applicable for academic years beginning on or after July 1, 2008, made minor grammatical changes in subdivisions (a)(2)a and (a)(2)b, added "any of the following" at the end of subdivision (a)(2)a; added subdivision (a)(2)c; and added subsection (h).
