§ 49-3-8. Powers of board of trustees enumerated

That the said board of trustees shall have the following powers: A. to control and manage the said community lands of the people of Chaperito and prescribe

rules and regulations for the administration thereof; B. to prohibit all trespasses and depredations upon the same, or any part thereof; C. to institute action of ejectment to recover the possession of said lands or any

part thereof, and any other action or suit that may be necessary and proper in the

exercise of the powers herein conferred; D. to pay all taxes and other expenses due on said community lands of the people of

Chaperito; E. to have a common seal; F. to adopt all necessary rules and regulations for the management and control of

the said lands and for the carrying out of the powers conferred in this chapter; G. in case the income exceeds the expenses, to expend the balance in such improvements

upon the said community lands as will be for the general benefit of the people residing

within the said lands.
