§ 65-1-32. Reciprocity policy

It is the policy of New Mexico to grant to vehicles properly registered or licensed

in another jurisdiction, while engaged in interstate commerce in New Mexico, exemption

from all or part of the fees, taxes or compensation required for unusual use of the

highways and exemption from all or part of the requirements for the display of registration

numbers, compensation permits or other numbers or permits. As a condition for application of this policy, however, it is required that vehicles

properly registered in New Mexico, while engaged in interstate commerce in the other

jurisdictions, be granted like privileges or exemptions to those which New Mexico

extends to vehicles properly registered or licensed in the other jurisdiction.
