§ 49-2-5. Vacancies in board; filling

If a vacancy shall occur in any such board of trustees the remaining members of such

board shall fill such vacancy by appointment, to be made at any regular meeting of

such board, and the person or persons so appointed shall hold office until there be

a general election for members of such board and until the election and qualification

of their successor or successors.
