§ 20-10-5. Medal of valor with palm

The governor may award a medal of valor with palm and with accompanying ribbon to

any member of the national guard or state defense force who distinguishes himself

by an extraordinary act of personal bravery and heroism, at the risk of his own life,

above and beyond the call of duty.
