§ acts:saved-32. (1)

1. In addition to the powers and duties heretofore conferred and imposed by law upon

the New Jersey Interstate Bridge Commission and for the purpose of extending and improving

the transit facilities upon the bridge structure and the approaches thereto, the said

commission is hereby authorized and empowered to extend the said transit facilities

by the construction of a subway and the laying of rails and the installation of all

necessary equipment therein. Said subway is to extend from a point at the New Jersey side of said bridge structure

and the approaches thereto to a point in the vicinity of Haddon avenue and Carman

street, Camden, New Jersey, and to such other points in the said city of Camden as

the said commission may deem necessary in the interests of public welfare and for

the better handling of traffic and operation of said bridge.
