§ 46:30b-96.
Where a holder acquires unclaimed property from another holder, such as in a merger,
acquisition, reorganization, consolidation, or transfer, that successor holder shall
have a duty to maintain and continue the records of the prior holder concerning the
unclaimed property, including but not limited to, the date of the last deposit or
withdrawal in an account in a financial organization, of the issuance of unnegotiated
dividend, interest, or other remittances, or the last communication between the owner
and the prior holder or holders concerning the unclaimed property.
