§ 40a:12-22.
Each municipality and county may establish and maintain a central registry of all real property in which it has acquired
title or a leasehold interest for other than street or highway purposes as of the
effective date of this act. This registry may also include a record of all real property which a county or municipality may hereafter
acquire, sell or lease. The central registry referred to herein , if established and maintained, shall: a. Constitute a public record; b. Be entitled “Municipal Real Property Registry” or “County Real Property Registry”
as may be appropriate; c. Be available for inspection in the office of the municipal clerk or clerk of the board
of chosen freeholders, as may be appropriate.
