§ 38a:3-2c.

a. 1 The Division of Veterans' Healthcare Services shall be under the immediate supervision of a director who shall be qualified by training and experience to direct the work of the division , and shall have prior work experience in a clinical or long-term care facility setting . The director shall be appointed by the Adjutant General, with the approval of the

Governor, and shall serve at the pleasure of the Adjutant General. As used in this section, “ clinical ” means directly pertaining to the observation, diagnosis, treatment, or rehabilitation

of an individual in a hospital, long-term care facility, rehabilitation center, or

other similar facility and not through research; and “ long-term care facility ” means a nursing home, assisted living residence, comprehensive personal care home,

residential health care facility, or dementia care home licensed pursuant to P.L.1971,

c. 136 ( C.26:2H-1 et seq. ). 1
