§ 2c:20-2.

a. In addition to any other disposition authorized by law, a person convicted under

the provisions of chapter 20 of Title 2C of the New Jersey Statutes of an offense

involving the taking of property by a fiduciary, or a person convicted under P.L.2013, c. 58 ( C.2C:20-2.4 et al.) of leader of a cargo theft network or operating a facility for the sale or

storage of property stolen from a cargo carrier, shall be subject: (1) For a crime of the third degree, to a penalty of $500; (2) For a crime of the second degree, to a penalty of $2,500; and (3) For a crime of the first degree or any crime where the person to be sentenced

has a prior conviction for a crime defined in chapter 20 of Title 2C of the New Jersey

Statutes, to a penalty of $5,000. b. All penalties provided for in this section shall be collected as provided for the

collection of fines and restitutions in section 3 of P.L.1979, c. 396 ( C.2C:46-4 ), and shall be distributed in accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.2C:64-6 as if the collected monies were the proceeds of property forfeited pursuant to the

provisions of chapter 64 of Title 2C of the New Jersey Statutes. However, the distributed monies are first to be considered for use for law enforcement

activities related to theft from a cargo carrier.
