§ 2a:48-2.
No action under this article shall be instituted unless commenced within three months after the loss of or injury to the property. If any person entitled to such an action is , at the time the action accrues, under the age of 18 or a person who has a mental disability that prevents
the person from understanding his legal rights or commencing a legal action, the person may commence the action within three years after reaching majority or having the mental capacity to pursue the person's lawful rights .
