§ 26:2bb-3.

a. The Governor's Council on Substance Use Disorder shall be administered by an executive director who shall be appointed by the Governor,

with the advice and consent of the Senate, and shall serve at the pleasure of the

Governor during the Governor's term of office and until the appointment and qualification

of the executive director's successor. b. The executive director shall be a person qualified by training and experience to

perform the duties of the council. c. The executive director shall have the authority to employ a deputy executive director,

who shall be in the unclassified service of the Civil Service, and such staff as are

necessary to accomplish the work of the council within the limits of available appropriations.

The executive director may delegate to subordinate officers or employees of the council

any of his powers which the executive director deems desirable to be exercised under the executive director's supervision and control. All employees of the council except the executive director and the deputy executive

director shall be in the career service of the Civil Service. d. The executive director shall attend all meetings of the Governor's Council on Substance Use Disorder .
