§ 26:1a-1.

As used in this act, unless otherwise specifically indicated, “ State Department, ” “ Department of Health ” and “ department ” mean the State Department of Health; “ Commissioner ” means the State Commissioner of Health who is the chief administrative officer of

the State Department of Health; “ Council ” means the Public Health Council in the State Department of Health; “ Division ” means one of the divisions in the State Department of Health; “ Division director ” means the director of one of the divisions in the State Department of Health; “ Local board ” or “ local board of health ” means the board of health of any municipality or the boards, bodies or officers

in such municipality lawfully exercising any of the powers of a local board of health

under the laws governing such municipality, and includes any consolidated local board

of health or county local board of health created and established pursuant to law.
