§ 18a:17-28.
The business manager shall: a. Have charge and care of the public school buildings and other property belonging
to the district and the repair and maintenance thereof, and in the case of repairs
not exceeding the sum of $1,000.00, he, when so authorized by the board, may order
the same between meetings of the board, without previous order of the board and without
advertisement; b. Draw or supervise the drawing of all plans and specifications for the erection,
improvement or repair of public schoolhouses, subject to the approval thereof by the
board; c. Superintend all advertisements for bids in the letting of all contracts for the
board; d. Supervise the construction and repair of all school buildings and inspect all work
done and materials and supplies furnished under contract and, subject to the approval
of the board, condemn any work done or reject any materials or supplies furnished
which, in his judgment, do not conform to the specifications or the contract therefor; e. Report monthly to the board as to the progress of any work of construction or repair; f. Perform such other duties as may be required by law or as may be required by the
board.
