§ 13:1e-99.

a. Beginning two years after the effective date of this act, 1 no person shall sell or offer for sale in the State any polystyrene loose fill packaging. b. As used in this section: “ Polystyrene foam ” means blown polystyrene and expanded and extruded foams that are thermoplastic petrochemical

materials utilizing a styrene monomer and processed by a number of techniques, including,

but not limited to, fusion of polymer spheres (expandable bead polystyrene), injection

molding, foam molding, and extrusion-blow molding (extruded foam polystyrene). “ Polystyrene loose fill packaging ,” commonly known as packing peanuts, means a void-filling packaging product made

of polystyrene foam that is used as a packaging fill. 1
