§ acts:saved-27. (43)

1. It shall be lawful for the board of chosen freeholders of any county of this state

wherein a public road has been or shall be laid out, opened, constructed and improved

under the authority of the above-mentioned act, and acts supplementary thereto and

amendatory thereof, or any of them, in addition to the improvement authorized by the

above acts, to further improve said public road, or any and all branch or connecting

road or roads, or any part or section thereof, by the laying of flagging or other

suitable material upon the parts of said road or roads reserved for sidewalks, whenever

the said board of chosen freeholders shall deem it expedient and necessary to so improve

said sidewalks for the accommodation of public travel.
