§ 34:1a-17.

The Employment Security Council shall: (a) Consult and advise with the Commissioner of Labor or his designated representative

with respect to the administration and operation of the unemployment compensation

law and the temporary disability benefits law; (b) Review the operation and effect of the unemployment compensation law and the temporary

disability benefits law in their several parts, and to that end hold hearings with

respect thereto as it may deem necessary or desirable; and (c) Report to the Governor and the Legislature annually and at such other times as

it may deem in the public interest with respect to its findings and conclusions. The commissioner shall, insofar as practicable, consult the council on all matters

of major policies and procedures involved in or connected with the administration

of the unemployment compensation law and the temporary disability benefits law and

he shall inform the council of the action taken in connection with such matters. The council shall have access to all files and records of the division and may require

any officer or employee therein to provide such information as it may deem necessary

in the performance of its functions.
