§ 7-2-2254. Transfer And Transcription Of Records

Transfer and transcription of records. (1) The board of county commissioners of any new county must provide suitable books and have transcribed from the records of the old county or counties all such parts thereof as relate to or affect property situated in the new county or the title thereof. (2) All chattel mortgages, renewals of chattel mortgages, articles of incorporation, contract notes, sheriff certificates of sale, liens, and original affidavits of registration which may affect or relate to property or persons situated within the new county shall be delivered by the county clerk of the old county to the county clerk of the new county and shall be preserved by the county clerk of the new county as permanent files of the new county.
