§ 7-2-2201. Authorization To Create New Counties
Authorization to create new counties. (1) New counties may be formed and created in this state from portions of one or more counties that must have been created and in existence for a period of more than 2 years, in the manner provided in this part. (2) Except as provided in Title 7, chapter 2, part 28, a county enlarged by the addition of territory taken from one or more other counties is a new county under the provisions of this part.
