§ 7-16-4227. Allowance Of Claims

Allowance of claims. (1) Subject to the provisions of subsection (2) and except as provided in subsection (4), the board of park commissioners shall, at its first regular meeting in each month, audit and allow all just claims against the city, liability for which must have been incurred by the board. (2) A claim may not be audited or paid until an itemized account of the claim, in writing and verified by the oath of the claimant or the claimant's authorized agent, has been filed in the office of the clerk of the board. (3) An order or resolution providing for the payment or expenditure of money or creating an obligation in excess of the sum of $25 may not be passed or adopted except by a yea and nay vote, which must be recorded in full in the minutes by the clerk. (4) A city may elect to have all claims allowed or disallowed by the governing body of the city.
